1. Who we are
This website, kingpoleapps.com, is run by Joel Bondoux (JoelBondoux.net), referred to in this policy as "we", "us" or "our". We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at email@joelbondoux.net.
This policy covers this website only. Our Shopify apps, LookDesigner Pro and HireLine, process store data under their own privacy policies, which are available in each app and on each app's website.
2. The personal data we process
Messages you send us
If you email us, we process your name and email address, the content of your message, and anything else you choose to include, such as your store's myshopify.com address.
Technical data
When you visit the site, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages requested, and the date and time of each request.
What we do not collect
The website does not use analytics, advertising, social media plug-ins, fingerprinting or profiling. It has no forms and no accounts. We do not use your data for automated decision-making.
3. Why we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Data | Lawful basis (UK GDPR Article 6) |
|---|---|---|
| Replying to your enquiry and any follow-up | Messages you send us | Legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us; or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract |
| Delivering the website and keeping it secure | Technical data | Legitimate interests in running a secure, working website |
| Remembering that you closed the cookie notice | A single item stored in your browser (see the cookie policy) | Strictly necessary storage under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations; it holds no personal information |
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and reply to you, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Cloudflare, Inc., which hosts the website and protects it from attacks.
- Our email provider, which stores the messages you send us.
We may also disclose personal data if the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK law, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep messages for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and to keep a record of what was agreed. We then delete them. Cloudflare keeps technical logs for limited periods under its own policies.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data;
- object to our use of your data where we rely on legitimate interests;
- ask us to transfer data you gave us to another organisation, where that applies.
To use any of these rights, email email@joelbondoux.net. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
8. Children
This website is for businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
9. Security
The website is served only over HTTPS, loads no third-party scripts and sets a strict content security policy. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold.
10. Visitors outside the UK
We give every visitor the protections in this policy, wherever they live, including the rights in section 7. We will not treat you differently for using them.
European Union and European Economic Area
If you are in the EU or EEA, the EU General Data Protection Regulation gives you the same rights described in section 7, and our lawful bases are the same. You can also complain to the data protection authority in the country where you live or work. The European Data Protection Board lists them at edpb.europa.eu.
United States, including California
- No selling or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar US state laws. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
- No sensitive information. We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information.
- Do Not Track. We do not track visitors over time or across other websites, so we do not need to respond differently to a browser's Do Not Track signal. We do not allow third parties to collect personal information about your online activities over time or across other websites through this site.
- Global Privacy Control. Because we neither sell nor share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of. A Global Privacy Control signal is respected by default.
- Shine the Light. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.
- Your requests. To ask what we hold, or to have it corrected or deleted, email email@joelbondoux.net. We may need to confirm your identity first. You may use an authorised agent.
Everywhere else
If your local law gives you further rights over your personal data, contact us and we will honour them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
